A single heart beats gently,
in the dark though not a tomb. . .
A life is just begining,
in a loving mother's womb. . .
In nine months time this child's turn,
to come unto the earth. . .
You'll weep your tears of happiness,
at this her time of birth. . .
You see she has her father's eyes,
her mother's colored hair. . .
Her fragile form is held with tears,
and tender loving care. . .
She sleeps held to her mother's chest,
in 9 months time she's traveled far. . .
This tiny angel, our precious gem,
her name is Amethyst Star. . .

It's official!!! I'm the happiest man alive!!! Jkrzbaby4ever and myself are having a baby......Well she's actually having the baby.....I'm just the daddy. The due date is Dec 31st. (perhaps a New Year baby!!!) We don't know if we're having a girl or a boy but, we have decided on names. We have three boys and one girl now between the two of us so we are hoping for a little girl. Although another son would make us just as happy. . . I'll submit a poem for the boy's name we picked as soon as I can think of one. lol

Amethyst Star by jokerman is a beautifully written tribute by a Father for his newborn, due in December. Amethyst Star will be her name, if she is a girl. I cannot match the loving words of her poetic father when he said, "This tiny angel, our precious gem, her name is Amethyst Star..." selected by jsenn (Featured by ^devart)

This poem makes me smile and feel all the emotions that I possibly could concering babies. I like the rhyme scheme (just like everyone else said) and your diction is great.

And being the only girl child with three other brothers, I wonder how that'll be for the kids, 'cause I know how it would be for me. ^.^

This is a beautiful poem.
And Amethyst Star is a beautiful name.
Being a parent, with all the responsibility of raising children in this world, I think, is the hardest and most rewarding thing one may ever do in this life. Congratulations on this blessing the two of you have received.

Tell little Amethyst Star when she arrives with the world clutched in her hand, that a grey green site and a bunch of crazy artists, said she's got a really great Dad.

That might not mean much just yet
but you will give a gift to one or more,
and she may be a recipient,
signin' her poetry...Amethyst Star.

In this I read free-flowing love for a child unborn, for family. I love this; it's a beaut jokerman. Congratulations and keep us posted *grin*
